Excellent book

I have been dealing with Earthquake Engineering for approximately 10 years. This is the book that I started with and surprisingly, I still refer to it on a regular basis. It provides a very comprehensive insight into Earthquake Engineering and achieves the difficult balance between discussing state-of-the-art research topics and providing worked examples and detailed reference to modern seismic codes. It is therefore an excellent tool for both engineers who want to design based on a good understanding of the fundamental concepts and for researchers who need a coherent guide to mode advanced issues. By far the most valuable book in my library so far.
